Each bookmark is individually sculpted from ancient bog oak, making it unique.
Bog oak is a rare and precious wood found buried beneath Irish bogs and has survived due to the lack of oxygen in the bog which prevents the natural process of decay. The wood varies in age from 4000 to 7000 years old.
The bookmarks are made by Francie O’Toole (Crainn Portach) a talented carpenter who uses his Letterfrack training to craft this unique product.
