Dorothy is an artist of international repute. She works with diverse media which includes video, photography and sculpture. Connemara is now home to Cork-born Dorothy Cross and is the source of material and inspiration for much of her recent work.
This book was made in conjunction with the artist’s show Connemara at Turner Contemporary, Margate, England, in October 2013 and RHA, Dublin in February 2014. Dorothy is represented by Kerlin Gallery, Dublin and Frith Street Gallery, London.
Artist Dorothy Cross Lives in Connemara on the west coast of Ireland. Her art engages intimately with the relationship between humans and the natural world. the works range from a thimble tipped with a walrus whisker to a boy soprano singing beneath a great stalactite. This book touches on some of the works made since she moved there and the landscape in which they are made.
